I'm looking for a source where I might find monitor/tv calibration test patterns that are suitable for burning to DVD. Thought for sure I would find it on my retail THX encoded "Highlander" but alas, it wasn't there.

    Nice find riles!

I was actually hoping for MPEG2 files but these will work just fine as they can easily be converted and burned to DVD.

Just so that you don't think I was being lazy...I did search for a couple of days but had come up almost exclusively with sites either explaining how to use their basic online pluge and gamma calibration techniques or retailers attempting to explain and retail their own calibration DVDs.

    Much appreciate your effort.

  4. I have the Computer Video ones installed on this computer. Useful for a quick check. Also worth getting a tone generator for audio set ups.

I guess Avisynth can be used as a quick-and-dirty tone generator!
You can also have the color bars video, too!

There is also a 'tune-up' DVD on the market (I bought mine from Sound & Vision Magazine for eighteen bucks) that incorporates a lot of calibration patterns and procedures for video and audio.

I found it very helpful for setting up my home theater setup.
Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.)
