    it seem like TMPGenc & Mainconcept is still the best for overall

  2. I would say it come's down to what you want to do with it. For DVD to DVD-R CCE for remaster old tape's with noise reduction TMPG. They both have there strong point's

    I'm a user of Main Concept now instead of TMPGEnc. I use Vegas and used to frameserve to TMPGEnc for my music video collection, but it was really taking too long, no way to have a VBR 1pass (not that I know of). Mainconcept, which comes with Vegas, does an adequete job and it's relatively quick.

    I'd still use TMPGEnc for stuff that I want to have a nice archive of. I used it for the SW Trilogy, taking 100 hours per movie to render with all the Noise Reduction and Sharpen filters added. As far as I know Vegas doesn't have a Noise Reduction Filter...

    So I still like both, it just depends on what you're using it for...
