Hi,
I have my capturing system all setup and working fine, I've done some transfers to DVD from VHS successfully so I know that is all ok. What I want to do now is transfer some "original" tapes that are in letterboxed widescreen, and I wasn't sure the best settings to capture/convert with.
I'm capturing in 720x576 PAL format, so do I continue to do this? When I use tmpegenc to convert the video do I use 16:9 setting, or will it have to stay as 4:3? Ideally I want the same effect as watching a DVD widescreen film, with it spreading across the screen - I know I can't get rid of the top/bottom bars, but this is ok.
I'm using iuVCR for cap, tmpegenc for conversion. All advice appreciated.
cheers
