I captured a movie from my VCR to my PC at 5 mbps MPEG-2. After I get it ready to burn to a DVDR so it is DVD-compliant, what bitrate should I use? Here is a resolution-reduced screenshot of the file:![]()

Use the highest bit rate you can to make it fit on the DVD. Use a bit rate calculator to get the value. Use the Tools section at left.

If you have already captured to mpeg2 and 5 mbit/s then it is already DVD compliant and you have already chosen your bitrate to 5 mbit/s.
Use your captured file in a DVD authoring program.Ronny
