  1. I'm just wondering if my rate is normal and what other people usually get around. I'm getting about 2.5MB/sec. This is using daemon tools and mounting an img file and analyzing that. Also wondering what you guys get when you analyze directly from the DVD itself?

    Thanks in advance.

Btw. I'm using the newest beta version of DVD Shrink. Don't know if it matters, but state what version of DVD Shrink and other useful info.

12 Minutes if it's not transcoding (100%). This from DVDROM drive, so it's about what my rip speed is (which it should be).

From 85%-99%, without Deep analysis it hits from 15 to 25 minutes.

From 60%-85% with Deep Analysis it takes well over an hour.

Under 60% it's not worth the effort :P

Two months ago I put together an ASUS P4C800E Deluxe Mobo with an Intel P4 2.8Ghz, 800 Mhz FSB using PC3200 1GB RAM. Before I sold my old ASUS A7V8X Mobo with AMD XP2200 using PC2700 at 266Mhz, 1GB RAM I did a comparison using the same DVD-ROM reader Pioneer 115 (transfered from one machine to the other) and the same movie (I don't remember what movie I used for the test). Both machines had AnyDVD installed and IBM ATA100 120GB HD's.

With the AMD I was getting 3.5MB/sec and the Intel P4 gave me 7.0MB/sec!

I was surprised the new P4 was that much faster.

  6. What is this rip limit removed? Does that apply to all drives or most of them? If so, how to remove them. I'm using some generic 16x dvd-rom. I could use my dvd burner to rip it but it is only 12x. I'm gonna go rip another movie from my dvd directly see how long it takes.

    Also..

Gazorgan is the 85%-99% mean how much of the movie you dont compress? So 15 to 1% is compressed? I always do deep analysis but it is not worth it if I only end up compressing the video by 15%?
