Hi Guys,
I bought a new digital camcoder (DCR-TRV38E) every thing seems fine, but when I shoot my Christmas tree, The lights on the christmas tree colors are not appreciateable. I set the white balance to Indoor. The lights on the tree are very small rice lights. Any sugestions, why it is looking like that?. Any perticular settings or filters to over come to this situation. I thank and appreciate your sugestions in advance.

Assuming your camcorder has it, and most Sonys do, set the exposure mode to moonlight (little picture of a moon in the display). This setting is used for fireworks and the like and seems to work perfectly.

I had a bad problem last christmas when I shot my christmas video. For some reason every time I shot a video of the christmas tree it was out of focus and very bad quality. I theorized that it has something to do with the christmas lights interfering with the infrared focus.

If you are trying to shoot a Christmas tree, why in god's name would you use a camcorder? There are several quality firearms available for purchase (at discount prices) at your local Walmart. All this camcorder business just seems silly. What did the Christmas tree do to you?
