  1. on TMPGE the selection for motion search precision. i have been useing the setting Highest Quality (very slow) does this setting help with reducing macroblocks and other noise? or are the other settings better such as Motion Estimate Search (fast). how do these effect the encoding??? THANKS........

  2. the motion search does affect macroblocks, but very lsightly, there isnt that much noticeable difference. Highest quality, and High quality look exactly the same, i dont use highest quality, its a waste of time, and motion estimate is about the same level as low quality.

  3. thats OK, here is the best setting foer motion, ive done a lot of research and testing on this myself, it might be different to some things i have previously said.

    use the gop structure

    I - 1
    P - 10
    B - 1

use the quantize matrix MPEG standard (CG/Animation will make your block noise stand out 10 times worse). Use 2pass VBR, and use high quality motion search, the GOP structure is especially important.
