I'm making a backup of a concert DVD. First off all I am making a copy of it to DVD-R with the PCM track cut out since I usually use the 5.1 DTS track when I view it using my home theater. If I included the PCM track in the copy the compression would be too extreme.
So, I want to make a backup of just the PCM track for critical stereo listening through my Grado headphones. How exactly would I do this?
First of all I'm not exactly sure how to extract the PCM track. I want to compress it, but not lose any quality. Would Monkey's Audio CoDec be a good idea for this?

First, rip it, using chapter mode in DVD Decrypter. (Each tune is usually a chapter when it comes to music DVD.) The end product of this stage is one VOB each chapter.
Then, using DVD2AVI, open each chapter one by one and perform these steps:- Under the Audio menu, select the LPCM track using Track Number.
Channel Format: Auto select (or LPCM in this case).
If you want to write the audio to CD, select Ultra High under the 48 -> 44.1kHz item. If you're just going to listen to it from your computer (or encode to mp3) set to Off instead of Ultra High.
/Mats - Under the Audio menu, select the LPCM track using Track Number.
