I have been burning Dvdvideo sucessfully only to find out that it freezes during playback at the begining of the last chapters. Tried different media and software, but problem still occurs. Used TMPgence dvd author and nero, nothing seem to work. I have two 106d, all with same issue. I even tried updating to the latest 1.07 firmware with 12x ripping.
Burning same video, using same disc and software work fine with my nec 1100a. Any advices???

i don't know if this helps at all but i also had the same problem and found out it only happens on 1 of my 4 dvd players. make sure your dvd's don't do the same thing in a different dvd players.

I tried 5 dvd players already, all with same problems. (liteon, pioneer, ps2, apex, rca). And like i said earlier, my nec1100a work just fine???
I am actually shocked at this problem. A good dvd burner should just work, you shouldn't experience all of this bs. And from my research before buying the pioneer, it should be one of the best burner on the market. So i really don't know that the hell is wrong? This is my god damn 3rd burner, i figure i should of gotten the right dvd burner by now. -
You say that it does it at the beginning of the last chapters? While burning does your screen saver come up or some other program start that would cause a pause in your system? I know that seems trivial but it has been known to happen. Also are your burners set to DMA or PIO? Should be DMA.
You have a NEC burner and a 106 burner?? I assume they are on the same IDE channel...which one is the master? Check to make sure your jumpers are set correctly for slave and master.
Are you creating original DVDs or are you backing them up? If you are backing up DVD's then I suggest you download Daemon Tools and IMGtools and check the DVD, menus and chapter points before burning it.
It's odd that you would have a problem with the Pioneer burners, I've never had a minute's trouble with mine. I burn from an ISO file and I burn with DVD Decrypter at 4x on RitekG04 discs. My pioneer is a 105 though and it is the master on my 2nd IDE channel, Ultra DMA mode 2.
The only other thing that would come to mind is that maybe your DVD is too big for the disc but if the NEC burns it fine then I would think the Pioneer should as well.
