  1. I have successfully used DVTOX before, making dozens of DVD's. However, recently, on the last 3 movies I have tried to make a copy of, when I play the movie using "Directors Commentary" chosen under the special features of the DVD, the video is fine, however, there is no audio. When I simply play the movie without this feature, the movie plays perfectly with the audio. I choose the option "Disk Copy" with DVTOX, and either AC3 6 channel, or AC3 2 channel Directors Commentary, however, there is no audio when playing back the Video TS file when completed using either of these audio types. This has happened on "Pirates of the Carriebean, Seabiscuit, and T3. Am I doing something wrong? (I am using DVTOX version 1.0.1; I have not tried using a later version. Also I use DVD Backup version 1.3 which creates a perfect Video TS file, whether I use special features or not.)

    Thank you for any advice.

all i can suggest without seeing the dvd myself is
    1. update to the latest DTOX your registration will hold so there's nothing holding you back...
    2. use a dvdrw and on the next backup choose ALL the audio files (just to make sure that with them all chosen you do get the audio)
    3. generally the only way directors comments dont play back is when you dont select the right audio file from the audio menu in DTOX

    make since?

  3. Thank you for your response. However, on the last attempt, I used DVDTOX two times, one time using the regular audio file, and the second time using the directors commentary audio file. Using the first audio file, the movie played just fine, but with no audio when selecting directors commentary, On the second attempt, there was no audio when using directors commentary.

I use 4472 as the size of my file with DVDTOX. Does that have anything to do with my problem?

    Thanks again.

When you use DVD2OneX with select audio tracks, the audio tracks retain the same mapping as on the original DVD. For example, on the Beatles Anthology discs, the first audio track is PCM audio. If you do a complete disk copy, except you blitz the PCM track because it takes too much space, when you play back the DVD2OneX disc, it will play with no audio -- the Dolby Digital tracks are mapped as the second and third audio tracks, and for some reason they don't play by default.

My best educated guess is DVD2OneX doesn't tell the new disc to make the first available audio track the default audio track on a full disc copy. I consider this a small bug, in that this option should be there, but it hasn't been coded into the software yet.
