  1. I am a newbie... and looking for some assistance.

I was able to capture and have some video from my Sony TRV950 camera.
I tried to burn this to a DVD RW and play it in my Sony DVD player.

    Here are some specs.

    I used NeroDVD software
    DVD writer is LG GSA-4040B
DVD media is Maxwell DVD-RAM RW
    Sony DVD player is DVP-NS300

I burned the short movie using + and - format
the player searched the disk for some time, but never found it.
I burned the short movie as a VCD using a RW cd disks. This played fine in the DVD player.

I have some plain DVD disks Ritek brand. I don't want to waste these until I figure out the proper procedure.

    Any suggestions?
Any place I find out what my DVD drive is compatible with? As far as + or - and media?

First of all I need some more information in order to help you . How and in what format did you capture the video . What program are you using to author the video . How did you burn it using nero , it needs to be DVD-VIDEO . I also noticed you listed a DVD-RAM disc . I dont think that your sony will play this type of disc .
Keep it on the big cam !

  3. Your DVD player will play both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW as can be seen here https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=DVP-NS300&Submit=Search&Search=Search

Your player will not play DVD-RAM. NeoDVD works well so that's not going to be any problem. So just take the DVD complient files NeoDVD makes (US NTSC I think) and put them into a VIDEO_TS folder then burn that folder and the disc should play just fine in your player.

  4. I used Ulead studio video to capture from my camera.

This looked like it saved it as an AVI file.

I then used NEOdvd to create a video on DVD
I am not sure what format it was in.

The problem must me the DVDram disk.

Any suggestions on other software I should have?
