I found this...
"Motion search precision" tells TMPGEnc how hard it should work when analysing the difference between this frame and the next. Choosing the highest quality setting will slow down encoding, although for movies with lots of moving scenes, it is worth selecing the higher quality setting.
I use motion estimate and never saw much difference in quality between that setting and normal. It's generally agreed that the highest setting is too slow and the difference not noticable from high. Other than that, take your pick."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
I use it when putting anything on DVD including D1/Half . I've also been using it to re-encode SVCD's for DVD. The motion estimate search(fast) works very well with the Rate control mode
CQ-VBR) and its settings button, you can set the minimum and maximum bitrate, and move the quality setting on the slider from 0 to 100. For SVCD to DVD I use a max bitrate of 3000, and a quality setting of 65,and ssrc to do the audio looks as good as anything I've shrunk, the size is about 1.6 gigs for every hour and a half. I've also did some 2 hour DVD movies at a max of 6000 and an 85 QC that are quite incredible, they also are 7or 8 gigs in size and have to be put on 2 dvdr or shrunk, but what would be the point of that?
I get some what faster results than using the high or highest setting, but would stick to the canned settings(templates)and use the high quality setting for VCD or SVCD.
Just shut up and listen dumbass
