    What is the best way to convert mpeg to mpeg2 either joined together or single files?
    Why are the best things things in life cost the most money?

    What exactly do you mean by "convert mpeg to mpeg2"? What form of "mpeg" do you wish to convert to mpeg-2 (1 or 2 or 4) and why do you want it to be in mpeg-2, is it for SVCD or DVD or PC use?

    Try dvd2avi and frameserve from that to TmpGenc. Search the guides for more details.
