  1. Anyone using this? Seems like a good simple app that can be used to put multiple DVDs on one disk. I can't get it to work though. I know how to add titles, etc. But, once I hit "author" button, it errors and a message about some .ocx file appears. I'm struggling with the menu thing too but I'd be satisfied if I could get 2 movies on it first... Anyone have any ideas?

edit: Oh yeah, and when it tells me to save the file, what folder am I supposed to be using and what filename shoud I give it?

edit #2: Well, I'm getting warmer. There is a "script.bat" file that is created when you click on "author." I looked at this file and it was looking for c:/.../bin/somefile.exe. When I unzipped, a bin directory was never created. So I copied all the .exe's into a bin directory I made. Then I just double clicked on the bat file and it started working. Then, later it got stuck looking for a certain .dll file. So I then copied all the .dll files into the bin directory too. I started over and now we'll see....

edit #3: I sense a common theme here. It stopped again looking for yet another .dll that was in a directory created when winrar unzipped dvdauthor. This time, I progressed all the way through BUT, when the DOS windows dissappeared, NOTHING was created!? Oh well, back to the drawing board....

  2. I have never used this program but seeing how it's a GUI do you have the progam loaded that the gui uses ? If it is, does the gui know what directory to look in ?

Sounds like your download was incomplete, try redownloading it. the entire zip file should be 3.49 Meg, and include 11 files in the "bin" directory, and 8 files in the main directory. You may want to also make sure you have an updated version of winzip or winrar when unpacking it.

    you can download it here:

if you are still having trouble once you redownload it, be sure to tell me what the error is. The gui is still very much beta, so there are bugs it.

PS, when you press "author" it will ask for a directory name. this is where it creates the audio_ts and video_ts folders. If you told the gui to create a iso after authoring, it will also generate the iso in that directory.
