Ok .... I need some music to add to my CD-R for new years and I'd like to capture what I'm listening to on one of the Winamp Music stations. It seems like it should be simple but maybe it's not possible?? No capture card in this system - but I can listen to the music all day long in Winamp. Is is possible to capture this music that is playing on my system?

  2. If you have a wave editor you can record "What you hear" as long as you set up the recording source in windows volume control.

    Go to Start...accessories....Entertainment...Volume Control.

Go to the options menu, select the radio button for recording and check the box for "What you hear"

Then set the recording level in the mixer. - Too loud and it will have nasty distortion.. too low and people will be able to hear themselves talk at your party. (play around with settings to get the right level)

The go to your wave editor (there are freeware ones available) and click the record button.

When finished you can convert it, split it to tracks, clean it up - whatever your heart desires.
