Still having problems decoding xvid to svcd/avi/vcd

I want to decode an xvid file to an avi file… and so on to (S)vcd… how do i do that? Can I use DVD2SVCD? I tried that on one of the files but It seemed that the file gets corrupt. My DVD player freeze when I try to play it. When I play the xvid as an xvid I don’t have any problems. The picture is clear and everything is as good as expected.. 8)
Is there a newbie guide for this… ?

Click on guides on the menu and where is says conversion...choose xvid 2 svcd

I have seen the guide where they use TMPGEnc, I tried it. It made a mpeg file (I think), but my DVD player didn’t play the disc, unknown disc. I couldn’t find any guide giving a “dummy guide” for this. Is there a way to decode a XVID to AVI? So I can use DVD2SVCD to decode the AVI to (S)vcd! Then I belive things will work out! I tried to decode xvid with DVD2SVCD, but it didn’t work! It decoded the movie, but my DVD player “froze” when trying to play the disc!
