For some reason, all of a sudden, the quality of the files from .avi to mpeg 2 using ulead has gone down - and in size, it's gone down from 3gb to 2gb.

What can I do to get it back?

Check you project settings and make sure the quality setting has not been adjusted.

Put your cursor over it and right click and select Higher Priority.

What's should the video data rate be for high quality mpeg 2 - 6000?

    What should other settings be?

    Or, is it 8000?

Also, should I choose stereo or join stereo?

  8. 6000kbs is the defualt in Ulead MS7 for DVD Mpeg2. Change it to a higher rate (8000+ or so) in your project settings or when you render. If you also capture to MPEG2 then change it there also so when you Smart render it will not have to convert again.
