    Hi

    Can I connect more than 4 IDE devices to my Kinetiz 7E motherboard, if so how do I do it, what do I need to buy and is it easy to install for a novice?

    Yes, you can buy a PCI IDE controller card to add more. The price for these can vary depending on if you want it bootable or not (I don't know if this applies to IDE).

    I do not have one so don't have any ideas on what cards are good.

    EDIT:: If it is more hard drives you are planning on adding, you can buy some hard drives that are kitted with a controller card.

    Tried a maxtor $50-us add on card, did give addional 4 ports but overall was not happy with setup.

    Needed usb-2 for cap device so added that then uset external boxes for addional drives/burners etc. Wjorking fine and have option of using devices on other systems with just the driver install.

    ext. boxes were $30-us each but was willing to pay the extra $ vs versitility given
