I have just finished converting Finding Nemo from an Xvid avi to svcd.
The problem I am having is that when playing the burnt disc on my TV the top and bottom borders of the movie shake a little.
The Xvid is 576X320 23.976 fps. I am converting this to an svcd using tmpgenc pro. I use the SVCD film template.
The converted mpeg looks just fine on my computer but has the shaky borders on the tv.
If I convert it to a vcd using the vcd film template it does not have the same border problem but of course the quality of the film is not as good.
Also, if I convert the avi to svcd using the pal template the problem seems to disappear but the movie seems to lose some quality.
I am playing the svcd on a pal DVD player and a pal TV but both player and tv are capable of ntsc. I play NTSC DVD's with no trouble at all.
I am burning the svcd using nero 6 using the correct ntsc selection.
I have tried using both the wizard in tmpgenc and just the template tweaking the settings myself.
Bitrate is 2250
motion search precision is High
2 pass VBR
Full screen keep aspect ratio
Have tried both bottom and top field first.
Non interlace progressive.
I am wondering if perhaps the problem is with my DVD player or TV and not the encoding.
any ideas very appreciated.
