I've just recently found these Teac DVD-R's at K-Mart here in Australia. They go under the name of 'Media Cache' and are made by Teac. To date I've burnt about 20 discs with a 100% success rate (in the Panasonic E-20). No playback issues on other dvd players including the Panny S35, Teac DV2150 and Sony PS 2.
