...I used the ISO option in DVD decrypter, now I have a file that's way to big to fit on dvd-r. What are my options? What other info would you need from me to help?

  2. What have you tried to back up ? if it's bigger than 4.7 gig, you'll need to compress the original disc with something like dvd shrink.

  3. It is just like fatbloke says:

Is the dvd a dvd-5 just use DVDDecrypter in ISO-mode. First ISO-read to save the files to your HD. Then ISO-write to burn.

Is the dvd a dvd-9 or higher you need a program like DVD2ONE or DVDSHRINK to make the backup fit on a dvd-r.

I did ISO read, but when I went to ISO write, it said the file wouldn't fit on my dvd-r. I tried DVD Shrink, but it doesn't work with ISO files.

  5. You have to mount the iso file with daemon tools first the use dvdshrink on the mounted (psuedo) dvd drive.

If the DVD shows "number of layers = 2", then you aren't even supposed to rip to .iso...........you should rip under files, then use your preferred program to compress it.

What is the advantage of using DVDDecrypter - then Daemon Tools....then DVD Shrink?
I use just DVD Shrink.....am I missing something?

  13. I dunno about you but when i just burn the VIDEO_TS folder my laptop dvd and my other PC dvd-rom cant read it but when i take those files and make an ISO out of it then burn it...it works on all my dvd players. So i guess that is why I make it ISO first, before i would just use dvdshrink and copytodvd.

I do the same thing....create an ISO image before I burn. I'm just curious as to the advantages to decrypting with DVDDecrypter FIRST.

  15. Hehe i dunno. I use dvd shrink FIRST then use img tools to make an image and then burn with dvd decrypter.

Why don't you just burn the compressed directory with Nero or Roxio,or Deep Burner which is freeware. What's the point of making an ISO file, just so you burn with DVD Decrypter? Why mount and/or create ISO files when burning programs work on your compressed directory, just seems like an extra step to me.

You use DVDDecryptor when the disk is scratched. Shrink doesn't deal with errors very well, whereas DVDDecryptor can be told to ignore errors and keep ripping. Of course you will have macroblocks or a skip on the finished product, but then you had them on the original as well.......

  18. When I burn the VIDEO_TS folder like is, not make an image, the dvd will not run on my laptop DVD-rom nor my other PC dvd-rom it will only play in my DVD burner and standalone sony DVD player. I rather have the discs work in all my dvd-roms so I make the files inside VIDEO_TS an ISO image.

Before I would use DVD Shrink and then use CopyToDVD to burn the VIDEO_TS folder and it wouldn't work on all players. Maybe I shoul try deep burner or nero instead of copytodvd, maybe something in its settings makes my other players not able to play it.
