  1. hey, just bought an NEC ND 1300A burner with herries lastest firmware. i burn movies in nero, i know they are the rite format and everything cuz they play in my computer on winDVD. i reauther all the files with dvdshrink and burn using nero 6 using a UDF compilation, no multisession, no joliet, Audio and video ts folders, yada yada yada. but the problem is when i try to play them in my set top box, it takes forever to spin up. a minute or two, and sometimes, just gives up. (displays all zeros on counter and a stop sign at corner of screen) then i have to get the cd out, put it back in, and try again. i have to try 5 or 6 times for it to read it, finally it starts playing if i get lucky. i burn memorex dvd-r media at 2x, when i burn at 4x i can hardly ever get it to read it. im really getting pissed off, can anyone tell me what i can do to make it a little more compatable or is it just my player? my set top box is a JVC XV-523GD, known for great vcd plays, up to 2500 kbp/s! and regular cd spin up times are 10 secs max. help plz!

I suggest trying different media (ritek), if no change then different burning software.

you can email rima.com for a sample ritek disk and they will ship 1 out for free.

  5. Give RecordNow Max a try.I have used Nero and RNM to burn DVD's and 100% of the disks burned by RNM work in my standalones, wish I could say the same about the Nero disks.Another option is to make an ISO image with Imgtools classic and burn with DVDDecrypter. You might also try DVD+R.
