best +- drive ~$160 Pioneer a06?

My pos nec-1100a died on me and i need to get a new burner. ive heard good things about the pioneer a06 and would like to know if they are the best drive for the money or if there is a better drive.

Yes that is an excellent drice, but you can find it for around $120 or get the nec 1300 for around $100

The Pioneer was recommended to me by a number of people. I have been very pleased with it.

my 1100 took a crap after burning 2 discs, so i think im gonna stay away from nec buners for now. 8)

i too got the pioneer after reading the reviews the people on this site said about it and Tom's Hardware Review.
Nec 1300A and This one seem to be the ones the tech guys here talk about because the NEC1300A is very hackable and cheap!
I got the Pioneer a06 for reliabiablity and media compatiablity.
Higher in price gets you a little better speeds but at this point DVD-r in 15 minutes is fast considering it's 5megs per second recording 4x speed .... about the speed of cd-r 48x burner.
