How many of ya'll love LiveType as much as me? I've used it to make a number of DVD Menus and it works / looks wonderful. If anyone doesn't have it I highly recommend picking it up.

I most recently did a DVD for all my movies. I'll post a short movie of what the scenes look like a little later.

    Ok,
so I thought LiveType was for creating spinning, bouncing logos on DVDS?
Can you also create picture bar drop zones ( which I assume that is what
is on the pict you posted)? or do you use DVDSP2?

And speaking of DVDSP2, I want to make a custom DVD project,
that enables me to create an opening splash like the DVD for John Q
( left side large drop zone , bottom to right bottom custom drop zone,
both containing clips of movies) and above the actual menu buttons.

Can you custom make Drop Zones in DVDSP2?
Modifying IDVD 3's drop zones was a hassle and I could never get them to act right.

Using DVDSP 1.5 I made each of those rectangles a button that linked to it's video. LiveType was used to actually create that video. I'll work on a short guide to let everyone see how easy it is to create motion menus using these two programs. I saw on another website where they were charging $30 for steps to to that, and I'll give it for free

We finally got DVDSP2 here at work. So I can now get some screenshots for the guide until I get my computer fixed.

I've looked around and there isn't any. If we wanted one, we would have to do it ourselves. Which sounds like fun to me

  9. hey tgpo, thanks for offering up those templates at your website!

one problem though -- I can't 'see' them in DVDSP2.03 -- I followed the included instructions, I've also tried using the import template option, but I just don't know where they do and how I can select them!

thanks if you can help me with this .......

    Nothing in custom

I wonder if it matters that I'm using PAL settings?

Whether I copy them there manually or use 'Import' from within DVDSP2 the templates are in the right place at /Root volume::/Library/Application Support/DVD Studio Pro/Templates

I'm using DVDSP 2.03, I notice there is an update to 2.04 which fixes some obscure PAL issues ... guess I'll give it a try.

That's probably it because the templates are NTSC

Photoshop is for static menus. LiveType can be used to create motion menus.
