    Hi,
I was trying to shrink the file size of a my dvd Terminator 2. I used DVD shrink but this only managed to compress it to 5.6GB. I removed all other other features not necessary such as different languages etc but only managed to cut it to 5.3GB. Now the file is still to big to fit onto a DVDR.
Any advice on how to cut it further would be much appreciated

    Thanking you in advance

  2. When DVD Shrink doesn't work I revert to DVD Decryptor to rip to HDD then DVD2one to shrink it down to DVD5 sizing. Between the two options I haven't found a DVD I can't process.

  3. krco, did you try to make a movie-only backup using the "Re-author" mode?
In any case, a workaround is to shrink the "shrunk" files (shrinking twice).

That's a 9GB DVD9. The only way to do it is 'Movie Only' in Re-Author mode. Extras and menus don't get compressed very much in shrink. Alternately do the extras and menu as stills, but stil it's a lot of compression for the main movie. Trim the credits and intro, it helps.

Double shrink is actually not all that bad. I done it on a lot vid's that normal shrink wouldnt compress enuf to fit. I use a a 53" hidef tv and the pics is more then acceptable (as long as u dont do side/side comparision with orginal). Most pple couldnt tell that they werent watching an original.

Sometimes when DVDshrink cant compress enuf, I use CloneDVD and it seems to do the compression enuf so it fits. If that doesnt work then I double shrink. By doing double shrink and some re-authoring, I been able to put each of the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD's (2 disk per movie, 3-4 hours each) on one DVD+R each (lazy, dont like getting up to put in second disk ).
