Video fades in and out

I have a Panasonic DVD-S35/DVD-S31 DVD player. Now, upstairs in my old bedroom, everything played fine. I had everything hooked up fine, and now, I moved down stairs. I hooked everything up the same way and now all my purchased DVD's, everytime I try to play them, the video is constantly fading in and out. I realize this may be a copyright issue but I'm not trying to record my dvds on vhs. I'm just trying to watch a movie heh. I don't know if for some reason this is hooked up wrong, or is it possible the video and audio cables went bad? Perhaps the sockets for video and audio input/output went bad? I plan on calling the customer service number tomorrow but figured if I could figure it out here, it would save me a call and probably an hour or two worth of waiting on the phone. Hopefully, someone can help.

It does sound a bit like MacroVision - which is what you mean by Copyright protection.

Macrovision is supposed to stop you from using a VCR to record from a DVD.

How do you have the DVD player connected to the TV? Is it via a VCR at all?

Wow, quick response. Thanks for the reply. Well, upstairs I had it hooked up through this dvd/vcr player that I purchased from walmart. I know I know, it's one of those walmart specials...one of those that works one day and dies another heh. Anyways, yeah I had it hooked up through the dvd/vcr combo upstairs and do downstairs here now and constantly fading. However, I also hooked it straight to the TV itself and it still fades in and out. That's one of the reason I kinda ruled out Macrovision because it still fades in and out hooked straight to the tv. Dunno what's up. I know it's acting weird and making it very hard to watch part 1 and 2 of fast and the furious.

Is it the same on all discs? (part 1 & 2 doesn't sound like a bought DVD... tut tut ).

LOL, i meant The Fast and the Furious and 2Fast2Furious. Sorry, didn't mean to make ya confused even more. It does it on all my dvds. They're not burnt. I prefer buying the original dvds in stores considering I got cops up my arse for my camaro and my speeding ways heh. Last thing I need is being busted for piracy. But anyways, yeah I own the original copys of all my dvds and they all fade in and out.

Heh, ty bro. I hope so. Anyone else have an idea? Dun make me sit and listen to elevator music for an hour.
