Every so often I come upon a DivX file that just won't play sound. The video of the file plays, but the sound just won't. In properties it says it's an "unknown" sound codec. It plays in the Playa with no sound, and in Media Player it goes and looks for a codec, and then plays the video but also with no sound. Any idea what this problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. what codec are you using?

i had trouble playing some divx and realized i was using divx 4 codec. after re-installing the old reliable divx 3.11 codec sound was playing again...

it's a juggle sometimes trying to figure out what codecs to use...

    hope this helps, good luck
