    Hasn't it been posted here before that some of the Sony's are already manufactured by Lite-On ?

    I seem to recall if nothing else some drives share a common firmware.

    The liteon issue is a rumour, but said to be probable, in the past SONY drives are said to have borrowed many componennts from NEC. More recently the new 8x 530 sony is said to be optorite.

    I'm glad to here this myself!!!!!!
    SONY not makin enough $$$$$$ so i guess they'll start sueing people of this just like they are over mp3's.
