DVDLab keeps crashing with mpeg1 and vob files

I'm trying to make a multi title DVD in DVDLab because of the freedom with the menus (no templates). I've done several of these with tmpegnc dvd author but I was trying to get a new look and keep motion menus. It will let me load the mpeg1 files (I've tried with vob files too) when I add them to the movie no picture show in the preview screen and when I try to add chapters the program will crash. I know the program description states that it supports mpeg1 is there something I'm not doing? Or is there a better software I should be trying?

MPEG1 does not have a preview, the preview box will just display green, and as far as I know, you can't add chapters like you do in an MPEG2 file. You'll have to chop up the "VCD" into it's parts for chapters, or you would have to create a DVD-VCD.
