I used to own the 1000A but it died. The kind people who I baught it off replaced it with the 1300. I have installed the latest version of Nero, but I can't get the thing to burn.
I am running win98se. I cannot create a HD image or copy any disk. I am trying to burn a copy from a captured video from my Philips 890 dvd recorder, so there should be no problems with macrovision etc.
The fact that I cannot create a HD image leads me to the conclusion that the writer is not at fault, but I'm stuck for where to go next.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

try another burning package. Nero has many problems frequent viewers to this site is only too aware of. for freeware try IMGTools to covert to an image and DVD Decrypter to burn the image. that will isolate your problem. i have a 1300 too...works flawlessly. BTW how are you trying to copy an image to your HDD?
Couple of questions.
A) What kind of problems are you having burning? Any error messages?
B) What version of Nero are you using?
