    I've seen a lot of posts about using fast HDDs and dropped frames, etc. when capturing. Are people talking about analog capture or DV (firewire) capture?

    Alos can VirtualDub capture from a DV-CAM via firewire if I just by the DV Card? Or is other software required?

    They usually are talking about analog capture. Virtual Dub does not transfer video via fire wire. DVIO is a freeware progran that does, though.
