  1. Hi

I have some SVCD Files that I want to burn as VCDs as my DVD Player (SONY DVP-NS400D) doesn't support SVCD Format.

I tried the VCD Trick(using TMPGenc) that I found in this website. But I am getting audio sync problem when I play it on my DVD Player.

I have been going through a lot of discussions that were already in the forum.. But I can't figure out what might be the solution for this problem.

Are there any other modifications in the VCD Trick that I need to do ?

Does anyone have a solution for my problem ? If yes, can someone please advise me.

I will be waiting .... Thank you very much.

Are you sure the SVCD (when played as SVCD without the header trick) doesn't suffer from the same sync problem? I can't see why the header trick as such should cause sync problems, but then again, it's a means to cheat the player, so what side effects it may have nobody knows...

  4. Mats...

Actually, when I play the SVCD File in my computer using Elecard mpeg2 player, it played well... no audio sync problem. But I see this problem only after I burn them as a VCD. So don't know if my DVD Player causing this problem or something else.

    lordsmurg...

And, we always have this option to re-encode to VCD... but I am making all these trials to avoid this quality-loss re-encoding.

Anyway, if I can't solve this problem, I will go for that option.

    Thank you guys[/quote]

OK, then it should work nicely when authored too, but computer players are more fault tolerant than hardware players.
Does it play in sync even after applying the header trick? If not, try multiplexing with some other tool than TMPGEnc...

  6. After I apply the VCD Trick and burn as a VCD, my software DVD Player can play this VCD without any audio sync problem... just my standalone DVD Player is casuing the problem... as you said, looks like software dvd players are more fault tolerant.

Can you please suggest a good tool to multiplex other than TMPGenc... thank you

You could try mplex from the mjpegtools. The Windows port of this toolkit is hard to find, but it's incuded in the VCDEasy installation, and (a more recent version, I believe) with DVDAuthorGUI.
