    I've tried making a compilation of .VOB files I've ripped. I used DVTool to cut the beginning off on some of them, and I am unable to put those files into DVD author. I get the following error message:

    Illegal MPEG file

    Does anyone know how to fix this up?

    You could try brining the original vobs into TMPGEnc DVD Author and clipping them within the program.

    I don't have the oroginal VOBs anymore, so I need to fix the cut ones up, so that they are compatible with TMPGEnc DVD author.

    You can try to feed them to DVDShrink or DVDFab to rebuild a correct structure.
    Sometimes it worked for me.
