Help needed with DVD2AVI v1.76

I'm extracting the .mpa file from the VOBs as I write. I suppose I'll still need to generate a .d2v file to instruct TMPGEnc how to reassemble things. Do I use ReMPEG for this or do I use AVI2MPG (and simply throw away the currupt .wav file)?

Unfortunatly to create a D2V file you still have to use DVD2AVI, but to save time, you can tell it to not Demux or Decode the Audio Track, since you already have it in MP2 format.

OK, after about 12 hrs of processing I've got a .mp3 file (at least that's what the program suffixed it). I've listened to it using MediaPlayer and it sounds good (except for some distortion during the THX advert) and complete. Unfortunately TMPGEnc doesn't like it after processing for a few seconds. Maybe I can fix it or convert it back to .wav using some other utility?

You could uncompress the MP3 into WAV using any WAV <=> MP3 program on the market, that shouldn't be a problem.

Can I rip only the audio w/ DVD2AVI?
I would like to have a second audio, so I don't want to rip the video again.

That's an interesting question, I know you can do Video Only, but i'm not sure about Audio Only, check the Video Options, I haven't browsed much through them, but if you only want Video, I think you can just Demux the VOB using Smart Ripper for example and create an M2V file.

There must be something wrong with the .mp3 (though both MediaPlayer and WinAmp have no problems). Two programs abnormally terminate with a VB C++ run time error right at the end. WinAmp says "Waveform-audio file has no "FMT chunk"

Have you tried using ReMPEG2 to rip the Audio Track from the VOB files ?
