  1. i've looked high and low for karaoke cd playing software but i cant find crap.

i know there is plenty of software to backup karaoke (cd+g) discs, but software to play it on your computer seems non-existant.

i've tried windvd & powerdvd, but those only play karaoke dvd's.

anyone have or know where i can get a program to play karaoke cd's on my PC?

thanks for any help anyone can provide

  3. the vanbasco thing is the same crap that is available in every other package..

but the mtu thing looks like it will actually play a karaoke cd.. there is a demo that will play the first 75 seconds of a song, so that will be good enough to test if the backups work..

a friend of mine sent me a bunch of karaoke cd's and asked me if i would back them up for him.

i'll have to wait til i get home to try it out, but thanks for your help none the less.

I thought the fisrt one was for mp3 or midi kareoke files but I figured the second one might work for you.

Quick question do need a specific cd writer or can use use just about any of them that can work with software such as clone cd or alcohol 120% to make copies of Karaoke cd's

  5. well i tried the karaoke software on 2 different computers with drives that were supposedly "karaoke compatible".. tried both an original & a copy.. neither of them would display any on-screen graphics.. one would play music, the other would not..

i made the copy with alcohol 120% (there is even a cd+g profile).. i'll probably know if the backups work this weekend.

well...... i currently use the Karaoke Builder CD+G Player to play my karaoke files (cd+g & mp3) that i download from the internet.....yet i dont think my dvd-rom actually reads karaoke discs .Nevertheless, i am able to burn downloaded karaoke files (cd+g & mp3 encoded into BIN format) to cds with cdrwin, which play fine in any karaoke machine.

anyways the website for the player and other tools is http://www.karaokebuilder.com/ , i hope you find what your looking for.
