  1. I'm using IsoBuster 1.5 and Tmpgenc DVD Author 1.5.15.49 and Win2K to try to put some VCD .DAT files on DVD. It seems that the files have to be good quality or Tmpgenc won't read or convert all of the file. Any blocking, etc. seems to trigger this, even tho the file is readable by the OS. There are no error messages when this happens; the file is only partially converted in the VIDEO_TS directory. The only way I can tell there's a problem is to check the .VOB file sizes to see if they look right or play the VOB file. Any advice?

When you extract with isobuster do you use extract but filter m2f2 mpeg frames? Also try vcdeasy or vcdgear to see if the dats extract without errors or partial extractions.

  3. Yes, I use the ISOBuster filter option. The problem seems to occur when Tmpgenc hits a part of the file that has blocking or other screen garbage. I have also tried using the .DAT file and the same problem happens.

Try cutting out the bad frames with virtualdub and frameserve to tmpgenc.

  5. Thanks. I took a look at Virtualdub.

However, deleting each bad frame individually cancels the convenience I was hoping to have by consolidating my VCD's.
