Hello,
I have a radeon9600 Pro graphics card with s-video connection.
Does this mean that I can capture video from a vhs-video recorder to my harddisk? Or do I need additional hardware?. What software do I need for the capturing process and then to convert it to DVD?
Regards
Dooku

If your VHS-video recorder has a S-video out connector, then yes, you can. If it does not, you will have to either get hardware to convert to S-video into your computer, or settle for what video format coming out of your VCR into your capture that is compatible.

I'm pretty sure the S-video on your Radeon is video-out only. So you will need a capture card or DV Camcorder to capture the video.
As far as software to Capture, there are a lot out there. I use Pinnacle Studio 8.
As always read the capture guides in the left column of this iste.
Hope this helps
