  1. Does anyone have the last firmaware update to this player? Their site I believe is no longer and I want to see if I can revive this player. It will not play DVD's. It plays CD's but not DVD's.

I just got this from Mediaman

    ftp://209.237.61.78/cyberhome/500/

Copy your choice of update format to your folder or desktop.

Sorry for the late reply as my system was off line for upgrading

  4. zleepy,
Thanks a lot. I thought I would never find it. If it don't work, I may have to replace the drive.

  6. Well, the new firmware did not work but another DVD Drive did. I tried 2 others that I had and 1 worked with everything except DVD-RW and DVD+RW. I guess it doesn't like rewritables. The other had sound but no video. The 1st one also played a miniDVD @ 6000 kbit/s. The only thing I could get before was @ 4000 kbit/s. I am looking around now for one that would play all formats and hopefully will play MiniDVD.

  7. Don't mind me guys, I'm just talking to myself here.

The reason it would not play rewritables was due to the authoring software I was using. I tried something with Tmpgenc DVD author and it played fine. I had authored with DVD Architect and it wouldn't play from the rewritables. However, it did play on one of my other DVD players which led me to believe that the Cyberhome did not support DVD rewritables. All is well now, everything works. The mounting is going to be a challenge but as they say "I'll make it fit".

So for those who have this player and problem, the solution will most likely be the crappy DVD player that they put in this.
