want to burn at a slower speed

Hi
i Have a Pickaone Dual Dvd -/+ rewriter
the problem is when i go to burn anything onto dvd nero will not let me select the lower speed
my burner has 2 speeds 2.4x and 4x but it only lets me select the higher speed and some things i have done have come out abit jerky so i was wanting to burn at the slower rate
any ideas

P.s when i do a cd i have no probs i can select any speed,is there a better program i can use any suggestions

Do you have the latest version of Nero installed. If not I would go download and upgrade it and that most likely will work. Some drives are not recognized or have minimal functionality but in later version of Nero it may be fixed.

Also try flashing you drive's firmware to the latest version. This can solve the problem as well. Go http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php to find and download the newest firmware.

When you go to burn there is a button you can check to have nero test for the max speed to use. It will run some tests and then set the speed at one that will work.
