  1. I have tried using Besweet but I keep messing it up.
    Is there another choice?

You can use ffmpeg....if you don't like command line tools you can use my ffmpeggui.

  3. You could try trials of SoftEncode or Vegas 4.0 to get true Dolby sound.

Have you tried the one that Baldrick created aka ffmpeg ??
    .
    .
I made a very simple wav,mp2,mp3,avi to ac3 gui for it.
    App: ffmpeggui

    Here's the link he started:

    * ffmpeg windows build of version 0.4.8?

Otherwise, what issues are you experiencing, so that others can help you
    here ?

    Hope that helps.

  6. Thanks Baldrick..
To cut along story short,I have been trying (without much success I might add) to convert a PAL Xvid to a NTSC Xvid and perhaps then to DVD.
Its strange because even although I end up with identical lengths(after demux)the rejoined ,converted pieces still end up way out of sync.
I do realize from reading several tutorials that the framerate conversion is far from a perfect science and more often than not works out with sync issues.

    @ wee haggis,

Have you tried first converting your Xvid 's wav to AC3 first,.. and then see
if it's still giving your the issues (your sync) yet ??

Maybe that will work first. I don't know, cause I'm not an audio guru, but
    I'm learning :P

  8. Yes...I used Baldrick's GUI and it ended up about 5 secs out of sync with demuxed AVI.
I tried another method where I opened the PAL avi in Vdub > changed the framerate to 24 > then saved Video only > I then saved the audio as a wav > then opened it in the WAV2AC3 GUI > I then opened the WAV in Goldwave and did a Time Warp > muxed them back together > It was close but still about 2 secs out at the beginning and 1 sec out at the end (strange as it may seem).
