  1. Hello i have a problem here, i resently got a nec nd 1300a dvd -/+ recorder and have tried to burn backups of a couple of my ps2 games, i have tried almost every dvd burning software there is but with the same result. I first do an iso image of the game, then burn it onto a dvd-r and everything seems to working fine, but when i put the backup in the ps2 nothing hapens, it just won't read the backups. I have used princo dvd-r and a tdk dvd-rw and tried to burn at all speed from 1x-4x. My ps2 have a messiah chip inside and works fine with regular cd-rips. So now i wonder,,is it me that do something wrong here when i burn? or do anyone else have any good ideas of what it could be?

Try using either Ritek DVD-R or Apple DVD-R anything that has a dark deep purple writting surface, I know that Some playstations that had mod-chips in them have a hard time reading cheap name brands like princo. Also I have A Magic 3.1 chip and for some reason it always has a hard time reading DVD-RW disk. Also Always burn your games at 1x people are having alot of problems with 2x-4x speed. I use Nero To copy my back-ups and they always work on my PS2.

  4. use DVDDECRYPTER in ISO-mode. It works great with PS2 dvd-rom games. I have a PS2 with the MESSIAH chip (first version) and PRINCO dvd-r works fine for me. No problems at all. Try burning only at 1x speed. Also I must click twice the reset button (1 second between the clicks) before I can play a dvd-rom backup. Maybe you should try click twice the reset button on your PS2.

  5. Hello again, i have now solved my problem with my ps2 backups. i downloaded the new adaptec aspi drivers and also downloaded new drivers for my motherboard (abit nf7s), then i tried to burn a backup using dvddecrypter and,,,damn,,it works, i used my princo dvd-r and they burned with no problems at highest speed 4x. but i have one more question here regarding dvddecrytper, when i burned the backup i ´set the writning speed to 1x but when the burning started dvddecrypter automaticly changed to the highest speed,,how do i do if i want to burn at 1x?

anyway thanks for the tip about dvddecrypter but i didn't have to dubbleclick the reset button for it to start, just put the dvd in and restarted and the game started. i also have messiah version 1.

  8. Hope this thread doesn't get deleted. Maybe the offer to sell post only.

Question, (yes I am kinda hi-jacking this thread a bit, hope you don't mind) how come game consels need mod chips to read burnt disks?
Computers and DVD players don't need them.

  9. There already lots of topics on this but since I used to mod a ps2 forum here is what to do:

    Use only dvd-r media

Get a mod chip. You cannot play without one! There is a fliptop case with disks $50 instead of a chip. I wont say where to get one but search the net, easy enough.
