  1. if i can't directly edit a VOB video file (and i dont' mean the setting sort of stuff i meant the ACTUAL video, like adobe premier would do to DV files) is there a way to "decode" a VOB so that i can? including menus?

  2. Well you can cut them up with DVDShrink like this
    Or use Vobedit to demux the video from the audio and use both in your Video Editor
