I have a 720x480 dvd-compliant mpeg stream encoded using TMPGEnc from a DV avi. I want to cut portions of the video out of the mpg, as I no longer have the source avi file. I have cut the file using Womble MPEG-VCR's mark-in/mark-out/cut method, and then saving the edited stream to a new file. When I go to author it using Ulead and burn to DVD using Nero 5, the resulting DVD plays perfectly in my set-top player. However, I took it to my mom's house and tried playing it on her player (an Apex something, I don't have the model number), and it would play for awhile, but whenever it reached one of my cut points, the video would freeze, requiring a FF to get it going again.

So I guess my question is, are there known issues with cutting mpeg with Womble, such as corrupting the GOP structure? Would it be possible to repair the streams using the GOP Fixer and/or patching the header?

Thanks,
