Could fill out your profile completely, so we can see everything you have? If you have a DVD player that can play VCDs, and a CD-RW, you can make a VCD with your video and play it on your DVD to record to your VCR at the same time. Of course, when you say you do not own a DVD, did you mean a DVD writer or a player?
    Hello.

Do you have TV out Video Card? If you do play, it from the computer to TV through the VCR and record while you play it.

I have a Pinnacle DC10+ which I use for capturing from analog devices. I go from the Video Out on my VCR to the Video In on my DC10+. I would imagine that if I were to go from Video Out on my DC10+ to Video In on my VCR I could output AVIS etc. to VHS tapes.

    In theory anyway.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. Go to the Capture Card listing and search for DV converter. This will give you a list of devices that can take your digital format and convert it back to analog video for your VCR, etc. The Canopus, ADS, Datavideoand Hollywood products will do this.

Everything on your computer is digital format. The computer cannot handdle anything but. When it comes out, depending on wh,t you are doing, data transfer via NIC, is digital, modem is analog(squeals) but it is converted to the device's requirement.

If you have a card with TV out, it will be converted to TV analog signal, recordable on a VCR.

That's why I ask, again, do you have TV out on your Video Card? Can you get one? If you do/can, connect the Video Card out to the VCR, the VCR to the TV, set the card to TV, and, while you watch the movie on your TV, record it on your VCR.

If it is your home made wedding movie, you have no problem with macrovision. If you try this with a DVD, the recordding will look jsst like it would if you tried to feed a DVD through your VCR to TV and record on VCR.

I've tried that. Don't work. One of them TBCs might help, but it isn't important enough to me to buy one.

You posted before I got finished.

Look at the back of the card, see if you have s-video connector, or RCA connector. One of my cards has S, the other has RCA.

If you have only 1 connector, 25 pin monitor, you do not. If you do not, and cannot afford to buy a new card, I do not think you can do anything.

I think I paid about 40 USD for my SIS 305 card with TV out, over a 100 for my VooDoo 3dFX. If you cannot afford this, I can only sympathize, there is not much else you can do. Well, copy to CD, if you can split them, and send them here, maybe I can help, but not much else.

Your S-Video is probably an output. Unless your VCR has S-video input (not likely) you will need to get a little converter from Radio Shack that converts S-video to composite which you can hook to the video input on the VCR. You will then also have to connect audio out from your sound card to the audio input on the VCR.

  11. An S-VHS (S-Video) connector on your video card would would definitely indicate that it has video out capabilities. If your VCR has S-Video inputs, then all you need is an S-Video -> S-Video cable ...

otherwise an S-Video -> composite or RCA will do the trick.

** Above links for visual reference **

S-Video out of your video card to either S-Video or composite/RCA video-in on you VCR and Audio out on your soundcard to audio-in on your VCR.

You should be good to go !!!
