  1. I've been having trouble with noise in my caps. It looks like several vertical bands of noise going accross the screen. Example is here http://www.geocities.com/rat_20032004/sp-cap.jpg, most noticeable in the grey area in the middle of the cap.
This happens on all caps whether they are DVD, TV, composite or coax. It becomes more frequent the greater the cap width and below 384 it doesn't show up although it results in a much less detailed image than capturing at a higher size and then resized down.
I'm currently using a Flyvideo 98 FM card with the latest BTWincap drivers. I have tried the Lifeview ones but the noise is worse.
I have tried changing slots for the card, swapping between RGB/YUY/etc, different cables, etc and nothing seems to help.

Does anyone know what would be causing it or how to fix it, or is it time to dump it and get a new card? If it's new card time, what are people's opinion on the Winfast TV2000 XP? Is there any difference quality-wise between the deluxe and expert versions?

    Thanks for any help.

  4. I had the same problem but was because of Sata drive controller hung off PCI bus causing bandwidth issues.

Fixed it by replaceing with IDE Hdd.

When trying to sort my problem, I discounted interference fairly early on as only happened on higher res captures.

Sounds like you are having a similar problem though since you already have an IDE drive I'm not sure why.

Is your drive on a channel by itself?? If not, disconnect the other device as a trial.

Make sure all your chipset drivers are up to date etc

    Good luck!!

It's a little hard to tell, but it looks like harmonic interference. I used to see this on older TV's with car ignition interference. Kinda points to your capture card. I think it's time to upgrade.
