DVD9(NTSC) to DVDR(PAL) ???

Is it possible to convert an NTSC DVD into a PAL DVDR? Can anyone tell me how one might go about this?

Movie only is relatively easy.

Full DVD? Darn near impossible.

It's got me curious, nearly all modern PAL TV's and almost all PAL dvd players will play NTSC, so why bother converting?

I am having difficulties with a region 1 disk I purchased from America... Just tryin everything I can to rectify...

If your DVD player has zoning switched on, then you need to get it switched off (not possible for all DVD players). Check this forum for your DVD player.

DVD players are now so cheap that if you can't get rid of the zoning, it may well be worthwile geting another. In Aus there are a truck load of DVD players that can be brought for less than $100.

The problem with zoning, is that you are going to come upon it again and again, so its better to get rid of the restriction once and for all.

If only it were that simple.. The DVD box set called "Firefly - The Complete series" is released by Fox and is whats called an "Enhanced Region 1" . From what I can gather this is a new thing, an new protection, and its damn near impossible to circumvent.. for me anyhows

I have heard that they we going to try and make DVD's that detect if the zoning had been removed and not play the disk. Rumor is that some of the very cheap DVD players that never had zoning built in the first place circumvent this. All rumor.

However, why don't you take your disk down to the local el-chepo electronic shops and try it in a few of the cheapies.
