  1. I don't know if this just applies to my player (Philips 727), but I'm having trouble getting rid of a timer in the upper left corner of my screen when I play my MPEG1/2 ISOs. The MPEG1/2 ISO plays fine, but the timer only gives me the option to display time elapsed or time remaining. Does anyone know how to get rid of it or direct me somewhere that can? (maybe a philips DVD player forum?). Does the timer show up in other people's players when they play MPEG1/2 ISOs? Thanks.

  3. I also have a Philips DVD727 and have the same question about getting
rid of the timer when playing MPEG1/2. There doesn't seem to be any documentation regarding this. They only seem to say it will "play" JPGs and MP3s.

Also, I have a few MPGs that play fine on my computer (video and audio), but the audio is terrible on the DVD player.

I'd really like to get rid of that pesky timer (but there is no mention of it in the user guide).

    Any ideas???

  4. same in my Magnavox 421 player, if I burn the files as row MPEG, the timer is always there. No way to get rid of it.

  5. I contacted Philips - they said there is no way to eliminate the on-screen timer for MPEG1/2 ISO (unauthored) CDs.

  6. Are there other brands we need to be aware of that behave the same way? I am guessing the Magnavox players will probably have the same issue, since they're made by Philips as well...
