Adjust the automatic chapter settings for the Panasonic E50?

I think it makes a chapter every five minutes. Is there anyway to either adjust the time or even disable this function?

I did read manual and onlything that I found was "Automatic every 5 minutes". Maybe somebody who has it can confirm.

About the only thing you can control is making a whole new "program" by hitting the STOP button during your recording session, which will indeed "end" the program you were recording, and then the next recording you make by hitting the RECORD button will have a chapter point there, and it'll show up as an item in the DVD's main menu.

Otherwise, it's a chapter point every 5 minutes, automatically.

This is yet again another area where the hard drive recorders give you extra capabilities -- on the DMR-E80H, you can set "Markers' wherever you want in your programs on your hard drive, and if you use the HIGH SPEED DUBBING to record over to DVD-R, then you will indeed have those "custom" chapter points in your finalized DVD-R.
