  1. my problem.

i'm trying to export a .mpg file in quicktime to a quicktime movie file

    i have panther.

    export: movie to quicktime movie
use: DSL/Cable - High (or any other choice)

when i export i have no audio. and when i check the options sound isn't checked and is greyed out.
if i try to change the video compression i still can't export with audio for qt movie.

i have checked on two of my computers running panther and both seem to be plaqued by this problem.

i used to be able to export them with audio. I've checked many files i've done over the past month and have found that there is a inconsistancy as to which files have audio and those that didn't.

the ones that do have audio won't export now with audio.

hope all this makes sense. any ideas would be great.

  2. Check chapter "How can I convert MPEG back to DV" in:

    http://www.sjoki.uta.fi/~shmhav/SVCD_on_a_Macintosh.txt

QuickTime Player doesn't export the audio in MPEG files so you have to do it manually.
