  1. hi there,

I'm having some problems getting the program not to reëncode non-complaint mpg files, i only use it because it creates such nice menus for a vcd but where it performs well for the menus does it a lousy job on the mpg files, the problem is the mpg is 1500 bitrate and it always converts this to standard, there is no way bypassing this as i know of, been doing some research about it.

My question is, is it possible to use workshop in combination with another program so it leaves the original mpg's untouched, because lowering the biterate from 1500 to 112x for pal encoding is much lower quality and that sucks.

the vcd play fine when burned with nero but hen i miss out such nice features like the menu etc.

anyone can help me with this?

  2. I have the same problem with WinOnCD. i want to use CVD resolution (352x480) for a SuperVCD, but it wants to reconvert it to standard (480x480), and it also wants to change the bitrate for some reason.

I would suggest trying the the VCD header trick. I haven't tried this yet, so i don't know exactly how well it works, but i intend to test it later on today to see how it goes.

this should be significanly faster than reencoding the files...

I'd suggest using VCDEasy, and create the menus yourself. Why struggle with applications that aren't designed to do what you want?

  4. Ulead DVD WORKSHOP only supports output of COMPLIANT discs.

If the input file is compliant, then Ulead DVD WORKSHOP can be adjusted to *not* re-encode.

If the input file is *not* compliant, then Ulead DVD WORKSHOP will convert it to become compliant.

If you wish to create a disc that isn't compliant with standards, you'll need to find another application that supports output of non-compliant discs.
